A fire extinguisher is required every 75 feet in a low hazard area and every 30 to 50 feet in a high hazard area Fire extinguishers are a first line of defense and are required even if a facility has sprinklers Kitchen systems must be inspected semi-annually The tamper seals on an extinguisher must be changed annually ABC fire extinguishers are taken out for main- tenance and refill every six years C02 and Water fire extinguishers are tested and refilled every five years
